439 Stainless Steel

Alro stocks 439 Stainless steel - low carbon austenitic titanium-stabilized, ferritic stainless steel with good ductility, toughness and resistance to sensitization. 439 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance when present in mildly corrosive environments, due to the typical 17% chromium content. It also offers good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures. It is more ductile than 430 and can be formed using a wide range of roll forming/bending operations without hardening excessively during them. Being a ferritic stainless steel, 439 is not susceptible to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
