HYDEX® PBT plastic
A family of amorphous polymers that exhibit many properties of crystalline resins: chemical resistance, dimensional stability, toughness and clarity. These materials are extremely dimensionally stable and are frequently the material of choice when close tolerance and/or difficult geometrical parts are being machined.
HYDEX® 202 and 301 rod and slab stock are a family of rigid thermoplastic polyurethane products. These products are produced from Isoplast® engineering thermoplastic resins. Isoplast resins are unique in the fact that they are amorphous which will yield properties such as good impact resistance, good dimensional stability, and clarity approaching that of polycarbonate. They also exhibit properties of crystalline polymers by having excellent chemical resistance and low moisture absorption.
Although HYDEX® 202 and 301 have unique properties that make it a good candidate for metal, glass, or ceramic replacement, it can also be used in similar applications where polycarbonate, nylon or acetal are currently used. A wide variety of rod and slab sizes are available. HYDEX® 301 is transparent a grade, while HYDEX® 202 is opaque but has higher impact properties than that of HYDEX® 301.
