Nylatron® GS and GSM Machinable Stock Shapes

Alro Plastics stocks Nylatron® GS extruded nylon and Nylatron® GSM cast nylon. while slightly different, each material is an excellent choice for machining parts that must withstand high load bearing or high impact. They are a good replacement for metals and standard nylon as they can provide longer part-life.

Nylatron® GS is an extruded nylon filled with molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) which provides improved strength and rigidity. With a lower coefficient of linear thermal expansion than Nylon 101, It has enhanced load-bearing capabilities while maintaining the impact resistance of nylon. Nylatron® GS parts maintain better fit and clearances and have less tendency to seize as bearings. these properties make it the most commonly used grade for gears, sheaves, and sprockets.

Nylatron® GSM is a cast nylon filled with molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) which provides improved strength and rigidity. This grade possesses an ideal combination of strength and toughness, while also exhibiting excellent mechanical and electrical properties.
