2024 Cold Finish Aluminum Bar - Aircraft Aluminum

About 2024 Aluminum

2024 aluminum is thought of as the "aircraft" alloy because of its excellent strength to weight ratio. In machining rod, this alloy has properties higher than 2017 and 2014. Though formability is generally considered only fair in the cold state, it is one of the most popular alloys for cold heading and roll threading applications. 2024 CF bar can be machined to a high finish. Corrosion resistance is fair. Applications include Phillips head screws, wood screws, hydraulic fittings and small parts for clocks and meters. 2024 CF is also the basic alloy for cold finished rectangular bar where strength and machinability are essential for precision fittings and parts.
