Properties of A1008 Steel Sheet

About Cold Rolled Steel Sheet

Cold rolling is a processing technique that presses metal through rollers at temperatures below the material’s recrystallization temperature. The process increases the yield strength and hardness of the steel, sometimes by as much as 20% depending on the specific processes used. It can also reduce the grain size of the metal, improve its surface finish, and hold tighter tolerances. By keeping the material below the recrystallization temperature, the metal becomes less malleable, making cold rolling a labor-intensive process. It can also produce thinner sheets than hot rolling.
